After giving the industry the world's largest LED TV with its 80-inch LC-80LE632U back in September, Sharp is upping the ante once again with their new 80-inch, 3D-capable LC-80LE844U. Part of Sharp's AQUOS Quattron 8 Series of 3D LED TVs, the LC-80LE844U will bring their already monstrous 80-inch display into the third dimension - a popular place to be these days.
Like its 60-inch and 70-inch Quattron 8 Series brethren, the 80-inch 3D behemoth will be a 240Hz panel featuring Sharp's Quattron Quad Pixel Plus II technology for smoother color transitions. Other features include an ultra-slim bezel, built-in WiFi, 4 HDMI inputs, and Sharp's new SmartCentral graphical user interface.
Although the rest of the Quattron 8 Series will incorporate an edge-lit LED backlight configuration, the 80-inch LC-80LE844U features a full array backlight coupled with local dimming for superior black levels - a feature also available on Sharp's step-up AQUOS Quattron 9 Series LED TVs.
The Sharp LC-80LE844U will be priced at $6,495 when it goes on sale this April.
