May is Blu-ray month at Big Picture Big Sound!  We've teamed up with major Hollywood studios, Dolby Laboratories and Panasonic for our Blu-ray a Day in May Giveaway on facebook.  You can visit our facebook page and enter for a chance to win one or more of over 75 Blu-ray Discs and a WiFi-enabled Blu-ray 3D Player.  Existing fans of our facebook page will find the entry form on the "Sweepstakes" tab on the left side of Big Picture Big Sound's facebook page.

Every day in May we will feature a different Blu-ray title as the daily prize, with multiple prizes every day.  The grand prize -- a Panasonic WiFi-enabled Blu-ray 3D Player with network streaming (model DMP-BDT210), along with a collection of Blu-ray Discs -- will be drawn at the end of the month.  Entrants may win up to once per week, and all daily winners are also eligible to win the grand prize.

Movie and TV Blu-ray titles offered in the promotion come from Twentieth Century Fox, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, MGM and Paramount.  Titles include Avatar Extended Collector's Edition, Black Swan, 127 Hours, The Incredibles, Cars, Tron Legacy 3D/Tron 5-Disc Blu-ray 3D set, Casino Jack, Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure, Gulliver's Travels, 48 Hours, Megamind, South Park Season 14 and The Ten Commandments, among others.  New May releases will also be offered including Gnomeo and Juliet, I Am Number Four, Waiting for Forever, The Hustler, Dead Man Walking, Leaving Las Vegas and many more. Total retail value of all prizes exceeds $4,000.  You can find reviews of most of these Blu-ray Discs in our Blu-ray Reviews section.

In addition to these titles from the studios, Dolby has provided copies of "Goldberg Variations Acoustica" a live recording of a jazz ensemble performing interpretations of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach.  This Blu-ray 3D Disc (also playable on standard Blu-ray players) features independent stage and audience mixes in fully lossless Dolby TrueHD 5.1 channel surround sound.  When our own Ian White recently reviewed this title, he said, "it's one of those rare discs that will genuinely drop your jaw," and "this lossless recording is amazingly clear and spacious sounding; one of the best you'll ever hear."  You can read more in his Goldberg Variations Acoustica review. One additional winner per day will receive this oustanding music Blu-ray title.

The Grand Prize of the sweepstakes will be Panasonic's DMP-BDT210 Blu-ray 3D Player with a collection of 31 Blu-ray Discs (one for each day in May).  This WiFi-enabled player features exceptional audio and video performance on Blu-ray Discs and DVDs.  It also includes Panasonic's VIERA Cast feature which provides wired or wireless access to audio and video streaming sources like as Amazon VOD, Netflix, Vudu, Pandora, YouTube and CinemaNow.  There's even Skype on-board which can turn your existing TV into a big screen video phone complete with video voice mail (requires addition of optional wireless camera, not included).  The retail value of the grand prize is over $1,200.

Giveaway is open to residents of the U.S. and Canada, 18 years old and over with valid facebook accounts.  Employees and regular contributors to Big Picture Big Sound and their immediate families are ineligible for this contest.  No purchase is necessary. Contest ends May 31, 2011, with random drawings to occur daily throughout the month of May. Valid first name, last name and e-mail address are required so that we can contact the winner and verify eligibility. One entry per person.  Invalid e-mail address or name voids entry.  Proof of identity may be required of winner.  Winner will have 48 hours after being contacted to verify identity/eligibility and claim prize, otherwise an alternate winner may be selected.  Winner agrees to release name to be used in publicity on BigPictureBigSound.com and/or Big Picture Big Sound's page on facebook.  Note that facebook is not a sponsor of this promotion nor affiliated with it in any way.
