Vinyl lovers, rejoice! Sony Electronics is unleashing the PS-HX500, a new turntable that combines old-school vinyl records with state-of-the-art digital technology.
The PS-HX500 is perfect for kicking back and enjoying that LP collection that's been collecting dust -- or maybe you've never given it the chance to do that. Whether or not you've been enjoying those records, this is one turntable that's worth the upgrade.
What sets the PS-HX500 apart from the many other turntables on the market is that it allows music fans to digitally store all of those records, but in either native DSD (up to 5.6MHz) or WAV files (up to 192kHz/24-bit resolution). It makes that magic (and digital files) using a built-in A/D converter.
The PS-HX500 easily connects to your PC via USB. Once it's hooked up, put on a record and you can capture all of your favorite vinyl in High-Res Audio. Once you have that vinyl collection in a digital format, the tracks can be played on virtually any compatible Hi-Res Audio device.
Other features include an aluminum die cast platter, a 0.20-inch rubber mat, and an insulated structure, as well as a USB port and a built-in phono EQ.
Sony is currently selling the PS-HX500 turntable, priced at $599.99.
