HEOS by Denon Wireless Music Platform Now Supports Google Cast

By Rachel Cericola

Most likely, that wireless sound system you installed includes several options for musical content. Typically, you can tap into your personal music collection, but most systems add in the option to stream several web-based services. Now, HEOS by Denon is adding in a wealth of other music choices by making its system Google Cast Ready.

Google Cast allows users to "cast" their favorite music, radio stations and podcasts right to their HEOS speakers from the Google Cast iOS and Android apps, as well as Macs and PCs.

All you need to do is connect your smartphone or tablet to the same network as the HEOS speaker. Then, open an app that's Google Cast Ready. From that app, tap the "cast" button and it will automatically "fling" content to your Google Cast Ready HEOS device.

The HEOS by Denon lineup currently includes the compact HEOS 3 wireless speaker ($299), the HEOS 5 wireless speaker ($399) for medium to large rooms, and the HEOS 7 wireless speaker ($599) for larger spaces such as living rooms, great rooms and open-area floor plans. The HEOS Amp ($499) can also add HEOS multiroom audio functionality to any pair of loudspeakers, or you can opt for the HEOS Link ($349) to integrate any existing music system into the HEOS by Denon "ecosystem."

"Google and Denon both strive to provide consumers with the best that technology has to offer, leading innovation where consumers want it to go. By working closely with Google, we are now giving HEOS users a great option of delivering sound where and when they want it," said Brendon Stead, Denon's vice president of product development. "HEOS gives users the opportunity to play music however they choose and being Google Cast Ready means our users have an incredible option at their fingertips."

All of the HEOS by Denon wireless multiroom sound systems are selling now.
