By Chris Boylan

Live sports has always been a big driver in pushing forward the latest advancedments in TV technology. If you're trying to watch the "Big Game" on a big screen, then it helps to have as much detail and picture performance as possible. For soccer fans, it doesn't get any bigger than the World Cup, and that has finally kicked off this week in Russia.

If you're a DISH subscriber, with a compatible Hopper 3 DVR and a 4K/Ultra HD-compatible TV or projector, you'll be able to check out virtually all of the World Cup matches live in full 4K Ultra HD resolution with HDR (High Dynamic Range). Just tune into DISH Channel 540, sit back and enjoy.

DISH Customers will also have access to some cool features during the tournament:

  • DISH Soccer Zone app: DISH's exclusive Soccer Zone app gives customers the ability to easily find, watch and record all 64 World Cup matches.
  • FOX Sports app: With the FOX Sports app, you can watch every World Cup game live while on-the-go. This way, you don't have to miss any of the action.
