This model is the 2023 upgrade of our recommended budget receiver the AVR-S760H which is the centerpiece of our best budget home theater system under $2,000. The AVR-S770H receiver offers an improved user interface compared to the S760, and removes some legacy analog inputs but it is otherwise nearly identical to its predecessor. The S770H still offers a turntable input with a built-in phono preamp so you'll be ready to rock with your vinyl collection.
The AVR-S770H includes a built-in 75 watt/channel amplifier, which is capable of filling a small to medium-sized listening room with sound from all directions. It includes Dolby Atmos and DTS:X immersive surround sound support with five surround channels, two subwoofer outputs and two discrete height channels. Pair it with a budget immersive speaker system to build a 5.1.2 or 5.2.2-channel surround sound system that will bring your movie, TV and sports viewing to the next level of sonic enjoyment.
The receiver includes Denon's HEOS wireless music streaming platform on board.
