Turns out that Victorinox, makers of the Original Swiss Army Knife, aren't just about corkscrews and ivory toothpicks. As they bring their trademark style to a growing number of lifestyle products, it was inevitable that digital data management would fit neatly in a pocket, with a few other handy gadgets piggybacked in.
At a press event at CES in Las Vegas this year, the friendly Swiss knife-makers introduced us to the Presentation Pro. In the form factor of a traditional red Swiss Army knife, the Presentation Pro takes portable data storage to the next level in several of ways, by not only providing up to 32 gigabytes of capacity (yes, that's more than a single-layer Blu-ray, and as much as the latest iPod touch) but also providing secure data encryption to protect all content, which can only be accessed by recognition of a fingerprint.
Also built right in are a Bluetooth remote control for a laptop and a laser pointer for business presentations and annoying your wife while she watches TV. The Presentation Pro packs a few of the traditional stainless steel accoutrements we've come to expect from a Swiss Army knife, too. A bladeless Presentation Pro Flight is available as well, safe to be carried onboard an airplane, perfect for us CES attendees who need to fly home with this thing and who don't relish the full cavity search.
The USB flash drive is removable, and supports AES and DES encryption. A biometric fingerprint sensor recognizes authorized users and spurns all others. The entry-level 8GB version will sell for $169 and the top-end 32GB model will sell for $330. Both are expected to be available in May.
