Cyber Monday UST Projector Deal: 4K AWOL Now $1999.99 (Save $1000)

By Chris Boylan

Update (Monday, 11/27): Sale has been extended until today/tomorrow (Cyber Monday and the day after), while supplies last.

Black Friday is here and projector maker AWOL is shaking things up with a big discount on their entire line-up of UST (Ultra Short Throw) projectors. The company's entry level 4K UST projector, the LTV-2500 is now on sale at the lowest price we've ever seen: $1999.99 with free shipping.

Here's the link for this limited time deal (no promo code required):

AWOL Vision LTV-2500 Tri-Laser UST (Ultra Short Throw) projector - $1999.99

This price represents a full $1500 discount from the projector's original MSRP. The deal includes free shipping. Those who pay with an Amazon Prime Store Card can get an additional 5% cash back in the form of a statement credit, saving an additional $100. $1,900 for a 4K triple laser UST projector with 3D capability and a screen size up to 150 inches? That's a pretty sweet deal.

Unlike traditional projectors, UST (Ultra Short Throw) projectors like the LTV-2500 can be placed right next to a wall and still produce a huge image. Just add a wall (AWOL - get it?) or a screen for an image up to 150 inches diagonal.

For best results, we'd recommend adding a proper screen. A good screen enhances color accuracy and picture uniformity as well as improving perceived contrast. AWOL offers a matte white projection screen with ultra-thin bezel for $399 in a 120-inch version or $599 in a 150-inch version.

You can actually save a bit more on a projector+screen bundle. Scroll down on the Amazon product page to find the bundles, which look like this:

All AWOL projectors on Amazon are discounted on Black Friday. You can save even more with a projector/screen bundle.

A lenticular ALR (ambient light rejecting) screen made for UST projectors can enhance image quality even more but these can get a bit pricey. But if you want a large screen TV that completely disappears when not in use, then check out the company's Black Friday deals on their motorized lenticular ALR screens. These screens disapear into the floor stand when not in use and automatically rise when the projector is powered on. The screen design rejects ambient room light and focuses the projector's light directly at the viewers for enhanced image quality.

Unlike many competitive UST projectors, the AWOL projectors all support active 3D content via optional active DLP-Link 3D glasses. AWOL Vision sells their own branded 3D glasses, but you can pick up a four pack of third party DLP Link glasses on Amazon for around $70.

The AWOL Vision LTV-2500 offers a maximum peak brightness of 2600 Lumens which means it can compete with a bit of ambient light from room lights or even the sun and still put out a punchy colorful image. The projector offers full 4K resolution, Triple Laser RGB lighting and high quality Ricoh F2.0 lenses to assure accurate life-like images and excellent edge to edge image uniformity. The triple laser light engine makes a color wheel unnecessary thereby minimizing the RBE (Rainbow Effect) we see on traditional DLP projectors.

The AWOL Vision projectors are among only a few UST projectors that support both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision dynamic HDR making this display compatible with virtually all of the 4K content available on streaming services and on Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc. Color reproduction is rated as 107% of the REC2020 color standard and the laser light source is rated for about 25,000 hours of use. If you watch TV four hours a day, that amounts to about 17 years of viewing. So binge all you want, the lasers won't mind.

On the audio side, the projector supports both Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X. Its integrated stereo speaker system features height virtualization for an immersive sound experience and 36 watts of amplification. Of course, we'd recommend pairing the projector with a separate A/V receiver and speakers or at least a high quality soundbar for more enjoyable sound. The unit features a fiberoptic digital audio output as well as an HDMI eARC port for connection to an external sound system.

For streaming, the projector comes with an Amazon FireTV 4K Max streaming stick right in the box. The Fire TV stick fits neatly into an integrated pocket in the back of the projector so you won't have to worry about a dangling dongle. With the Firestick, you'll have access to Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Apple TV+, MAX, Disney+, Hulu and all your other favorite streaming services, all in 4K Ultra HD resolution. Subscriptions to the respective streaming services are required, of course.

Owners of the LTV-2500 seem to love it as the projector is currently sitting at 4.3 stars out of 5 on Amazon with over 70% 5-star reviews from Amazon customers. Amazon may change this deal at any time without notice, but the deal is expected to go live on Friday, November 24, 2023 and will end on November 28, unless they sell out existing inventory before then.

If 2,600 Lumens isn't bright enough for you, AWOL is also discounting their other UST projector models on Amazon for Black Friday:
