As we've mentioned in the past, Panasonic has teamed up with Fox for an exclusive promotion around the top-grossing motion picture of all time: Avatar. But now Panasonic is finally officially speaking up about the details. Current Panasonic 3D TV owners and future buyers will be happy to hear that they will be eligible to receive Avatar on Blu-ray 3D Disc in one of two ways.
A new "3D Ultimate Pack" for new 3D TV buyers will include the movie on Blu-ray 3D Disc as well as two pairs of 3D glasses. The DMP-BDT100 Blu-ray 3D Player is also being offered as part of this bundle for new Panasonic 3D TV buyers. Existing Panasonic 3D TV owners (VT20, VT25, GT24 and GT25 series HDTVs) will be able to get the disc via a mail-in rebate.
The full 3D bundle is available now for 42-inch and 50-inch screen sizes of Panasonic's GT25 series 3D TVs at select retailers. Amazon's current discounted pricing will get you the 42-inch model for $1299.98 and the 50-inch model for $1599.98 (pricing subject to change at Amazon's discretion). Here's the link:
Those who already own an eligible Panasonic 3D TV can send in a rebate form to receive Avatar on Blu-ray 3D Disc by mail. Or if you just can't wait, then you can also buy the Ultimate 3D Pack today on its own with two pairs of rechargeable 3D glasses (the more expensive new glasses) plus the movie (link below).
