Yamaha Bows New HDMI 1080p-Upconverting Receiver for $999 (RX-V861)

'Tis the season for new home theater receiver introductions and Yamaha is debuting a new 1080p-compatible upconverting HDMI-switching home theater receiver next month for an MSRP of $999. The
RX-V861 will feature 2 HDMI (version 1.2a) and 3 HD-compatible component video inputs as well as the usual assortment of composite and S-Video connections. It will convert all analog and digital video up to 1080p for output via HDMI to your compatible display device.
The receiver features 105 Watts per channel into 7 channels and is XM-Ready (including XM HD Neural Surround support). The receiver is also iPod-friendly via its compatibility with Yamaha's optional YDS-10 Universal Dock.
