The CEDIA Expo is right around the corner. In case you aren't familiar with the show, this is the place where we typically see the shiniest, coolest, and most expensive consumer electronics items on display, at least in the area of home theater and home automation.
It seems as though projectiondesign is already frothing about its latest projectors, choosing not to wait until CEDIA Expo to spill the beands on its latest products, and we don't blame them. The Norwegian company plans to show off several new models in its its avielo by projectiondesign line, which will feature four new DLP projectors. With so many options, everything from movies to gaming to sports is covered, with each product specifically geared toward the custom install and high-end home theater market.
First up is the avielo optix SuperWide 235, a 2.35:1 projector that uses TI's latest and greatest high pixel-density DLP chip. Promising an eye-popping resolution of 2538 x 1080 pixels, this big boy is designed to deliver movies in its native wide 2.35:1 format, for a more cinema-like home theater experience.
If you're looking to add 3D into the home, the avielo optix 3D is the company's first 3D projector product. Based on the avielo optix Full HD projector, this product adds in a proprietary image processing engine, which makes 3D happen -- when bundled with a Blu-ray 3D player and/or any other 3D source using HDMI 1.4 outputs.
If you're not big on all of the special effects, the avielo helios Studio Edition can deliver an old-fashioned awesome picture. Inside is a specially designed, optically pure light engine. Combine that with Norwegian craftsmanship and you've got a pretty sweet 3-chip DLP projector for the home.
Last, but certainly not least, is the avielo radiance RLS, which the company says is the world's first Remote Light Source (RLS) projector. This model separates all of the lamps, thermal management and maintenance from the actual projector chassis, and mounts them about 100 feet away. All of those goodies are fed to the projector through a Liquid Light Guide (LLG) line, which uses a water-based liquid to transfer the light back to the projector. Pretty trippy, eh? However, it's not just a nice conversation piece, but also perfect for installs that are short on space and big on silence.
"Since launching the avielo brand we have been steadily extending and improving the range - combining our expertise in projection for movie preview and post-production with an absolute commitment to give custom installers and integrators products that their end customers will love," says Anders Løkke, projectiondesign's international marketing and communications manager. "We're excited to be bringing our biggest-ever product offering to CEDIA Expo, and feel sure that visitors to our booth will find at least four reasons to rethink what is possible in today's home-theater installations - if not more!"
Pricing and specific availability dates of the new projectors was not available at press time. More details are expected at this years's CEDIA Expo in Atlanta (Sptember 22-26).
