We could all use a new brain now and then -- for our home theater, of course. Yamaha just announced its new addition to the 67 series, the RX-V867 A/V receiver.
Designed to be the hub of your home A/V setup, this seven-channel receiver has 95 watts per channel, dual HDMI outputs, networking capabilities, as well as 3D video and HD audio support. Also, on-screen display GUI features album art and overlay on HD and 3D sources.
The networking perk means that right out of the box, users can enjoy web radio, as well as Rhapsody, Sirius, and their own networked music. (Some subscription fees may apply.)
Of course, there's also the 3D, as well as Audio Return Channel support over HDMI 1.4a (6 in/2 out), HD Audio decoding with the Yamaha's own CINEMA DSP 3D technology, Powered Zone 2, and Party Mode, where all zones can be made to play the same source material. Yamaha's IntelliAmp technology also allows users to assign amplifiers for bi-amp configuration, surround back, front presence or Zone 2 connection.
Other features include Yamaha YPAO automatic calibration, Pure Direct for HD Audio and Video, Deep Color (30/36 bit) technology, x.v.Color, 24Hz refresh rates, and much more. To add a portable music device into the mix, just add on the YDS-12 dock, YID-W10 wireless rransmitter, or YBA-10 Bluetooth wireless audio receiver.
The RX-V867 is the latest in the 67 series, which also includes the RX-V367 ($249.95), RX-V467 ($379.95), RX-V567 ($479.95), and the RX-V667 ($599.95).
