Today Yamaha revealed the YSP-2200, the newest addition to its popular line of digital sound projectors. In addition to offering an attractive and convenient alternative to multiple speakers, cables, and stands, the YSP-2200 also boasts a foursome of HDMI 1.4a inputs, thus ensuring compatibility with new Blu-ray 3D disc players and other 3D sources.
Designed to work with virtually any tabletop (or wall-mounted) display without getting in the way, the YSP-2200 features height-adjustable feet and measures a diminutive 3.5-inches tall. Housed within the sound projector are sixteen speaker beam drivers, each with its own dedicated digital amplifier. A compact external 100-watt subwoofer delivers bass and flexibility, thanks mainly to its horizontal or vertical installation option.
Surround sound enthusiasts will be pleased to learn that the YSP-2200 decodes both DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD audio signals. Planning to use multiple audio sources? No problem - the YSP-2200 features four HDMI 1.4a inputs and one HDMI output. Also handy is the Yamaha's IntelliBeam Automated System Calibration, offering easy setup and optimized audio performance for your space. The integrated dock port allows you to accessorize with a wireless dock port for your iPod, while the system's Music Enhancer function optimizes compressed digital music files.
Poised to deliver high-quality surround-sound performance in a space-efficient package, the YSP-2200 will sell for $999 when it goes on sale in the near future.
