WarpiaTV Streams Up to 1080p from the PC to an HDTV

Some companies continue to push the connected TV, with many sets featuring automatic connectivity to the web and beyond. However, this typically involves limited access to select sets. Of course, you could connect a computer directly to a TV through the RGB inputs or even use a DVI-to-HDMI cable, provided the computer has the video cards to allow for the pass-through of audio.

Neither option is really all that practical. Even with a laptop, computers lack the optimum interface for use with an HDTV -- unless you're fond of using a mouse and keyboard on the coffee table. There have been a few options that combine the ease of connectivity with the vastness of the Internet. Now, Warpia is adding to those options.

This week's Consumer Electronics Show will feature the debut of WarpiaTV Wireless Edition, a product that promises wireless streaming from the PC to TV. It also features special icon-based video browser software powered by Kylo and a Wireless Motion Controller with Freespace technology.

WarpiaTV allows users to stream video content from popular Internet sites, as well as directly from a computer's hard disc drive, up to 30 feet away.

The Wireless Motion Controller provides the control of a PC mouse, along with multiple PC functions such as volume, mute and escape.

Navigation is easy, thanks to the Wireless Motion Controller. This perk provides the control of a PC mouse, along with multiple PC functions including volume, mute and escape. This device features Hillcrest Labs' Freespace technology, so it doesn't need to be pointed at the screen for these functions. To move the cursor on the screen, it can be pointed and moved much like a Nintendo Wii or other motion control device.

WarpiaTV Wireless Edition doesn't just allow for endless content streaming, it can also do it up to 1080p -- and with stereo audio, where available. Think about the possibilities from the web, as well as sites like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Netflix.

"We are thrilled to partner with Hillcrest Labs to bring our successful line of streaming solutions to a new level, offering a product that provides the ultimate entertainment solution for the home," says Mike Walsh, president of Warpia. "With this addition to our line of products, Warpia now offers more streaming solutions for the home or business than similar companies in the market. We are proud to be the one stop company that provides a solution for every consumer whether they are on a budget or looking to maximize their home entertainment experience."

The WarpiaTV Wireless Edition is now available for $199.99. A wired version of the WarpiaTV is also available for $79.99, and includes the Wireless Motion Controller and WarpiaTV Browser, along with a 6-foot HDMI cable to connect a laptop to the TV. The Wireless Edition has the Wireless Motion Controller, the WarpiaTV Browser, an HDMI cable, the wireless USB receiver, a wireless USB PC adapter, a quick start guide and an installation CD.
