If you've been waiting for the VUDU service to come to Roku's streaming set-top box, you may want to take a seat. It's probably going to be a while. Instead, Walmart is putting its VUDU streaming movie service into another low-cost box, the newly announced D-Link MovieNite Streaming Media Player (DSM310).
The box appears to be gunning for Roku's audience, with a $59.99 price tag and the promise of full 1080p HD images. Those 1080p movies and TV shows will come from Walmart's VUDU service and other select partners. The box also provides access to web radio, photo features, and much more.
At launch, MovieNite will include one-click access to the aforementioned VUDU, as well as Netflix, YouTube, Pandora, Picasa, and mydlink-enabled network cameras (with the add-on camera, of course).
Promising a three-step setup, the MovieNite box connects to an HDTV via HDMI or composite audio/video connections. It also features built-in WiFi and Ethernet connectivity, so you can choose your preferred method of network connection. Once it's connected, an on-screen menu will walk the user though the setup process. MovieNite also comes with its own remote, which features one-button instant navigation to some of the set-top's most popular services.

The MovieNite Streaming Media Player has an MSRP of $59.99. It's available now at Walmart stores nationwide and through Walmart.com.
