Earlier this year, VIZIO was teasing us with announcements of 3D products for 2010. Just in time for holiday shopping, the company has officially added three 3D TVs and two Blu-ray 3D players to its lineup.
The three new HDTVs will fall under the company's XVT Series. Available in 42-, 47- and 55-inch screen sizes, each model includes a 1080p full HD image, 480Hz SPS technology, and SRS TruSurround HD audio. The 47-inch XVT3D474SV and 55-inch XVT3D554SV both feature TruLED backlighting with Smart Dimming, while the 42-inch XVT3D424SV does the Smart Dimming, but with Razor LED backlighting. All three models also include five HDMI inputs, built-in dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi and a Bluetooth remote with sliding QWERTY keypad.
That keyboard will come in handy when tapping into the included VIZIO Internet Apps feature. Currently, the content providers for this on-screen, on-demand service include Netflix, Amazon Video on Demand, Pandora, Flickr, eBay, and much more.
For now, all three 3D TVs will be exclusively available online, with 3D glasses being sold separately. VIZIO plans to put all three models on retail shelves later this month, with a wider rollout coming in December. Expect to see Beyoncé shaking her thang in commercials to promote the new 3D models.
If you're looking for a Blu-ray 3D player to match that new 3D TV, VIZIO also announced availability for the VBR333 and VBR334 -- sort of. The VBR334 isn't available to everyone, but is a member-club exclusive.
As far as features, both players match almost identically, with both 2D and full HD 3D playback, as well as built-in Wi-Fi and access to VIZIO Internet Apps. Aside from availability, the only difference between the two seems to be that the VBR334 comes with its own HDMI cable.
