There's something very special inside the upcoming Blu-ray set of The Office: Season Six. It's not the birth of Jim and Pam's baby, Michael actually landing a girlfriend, or even more Creed thoughts. Instead, those buying the Season Six set will actually be treated to some of Season Seven.
Universal just announced the set, as well as a very unique new feature for Blu-ray, made possible by BD-Live: online streaming of new episodes of the show shortly after they air on live TV. Yes, that's right. In addition to the 26 episodes that aired during Season Six, viewers can tap into BD-Live to catch up on the most recent five episodes from Season Seven.
Each of those Season Seven episodes should stream in HD, depending on your web connection. BD-Live also includes a My Scenes feature, which allows you to bookmark the most hilarious moments. The set will also include pocket BLU, which opens up options for Advanced Remote Control, Video Timeline, Mobile-To-Go, Browse Titles, and Keyboard access.
The set also features over eight hours of extras, including:
Going into its seventh season, The Office stars Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, B.J. Novak and Ed Helms.
The Office: Season Six will debut on Blu-ray on September 7, 2010. The 4-disc set has an MSRP of $69.98, but Amazon is currently taking pre-orders, offering the set for 30 percent off that price. Amazon's pre-order pricing guarantee is in effect, so if the price goes down before it ships, you'll get it for the lower price!
