All good things must come to an end, and that includes Christopher Nolan's reboot of the Batman series. The Dark Knight Rises closes the storylines, and possibly opens the door for another reboot down the line. To mark the ending, Warner Bros promises three hours of of bonus features on the Blu-ray to be released on December 4, in time for the holiday season.
A "sizzle" trailer video released by Warner Bros hypes the movie, and teases out the list of bonus features for the Blu-ray combo pack. The filmmakers will put you in the driver's seat in a tour of all of the Batmobiles used in the movie. Warner Bros. will be releasing a free Dark Knight Rises movie app for iOS and Android devices. While anyone can get access to the app, it syncs to the Blu-ray disc as a "second screen" app so you can unlock special features including an interactive map that shows where in Gotham City each scene takes place.
The trilogy closes with a bonus-packed Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. The set is sure to please those who went to see the film in theaters over the summer, and also the many who waited to watch the movie on their own big screens. In addition to the standard packaging, a limited release "Bat Cowl" package is also avaiable for pre-order.
