These days, a lot of companies are willing to work together, in an effort to standardize and promote new home theater products and/or technology standards. However, what happens once you step outside? SunBriteTV and Soundcast Systems just announced plans to join forces for the Outdoor Entertainment Alliance (OEA).
Outdoor entertainment systems are becoming more popular -- like way beyond the typical BBQ and/or firepit. People are putting a lot of money into high-end systems for pool and patio areas. However, the OEA is hoping to bring this type of technology to even more of the masses, by raising awareness through marketing and social media.
The newly formed organization is currently planning consumer cross-promotions, advertising campaigns, co-merchandising with key retailers, PR events and activities, co-sponsorships of charitable and philanthropic activities/events, and much more.
SunBriteTV and Soundcast coming together makes perfect sense. One is a maker of weatherproof TVs, while the other offers a variety of wireless audio products with and without Bluetooth support built in. Both brands are well known for being completely weather-resistent. SunBriteTV has a whole line of TVs with anti-reflective screens, which are made to withstand temperatures from -24 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit. Soundcast's options can put audio into areas with moisture, humidity and tons of sunlight -- all without wires. Each one of the company's speakers boasts a 360-degree omnidirectional circular acoustic design and a broadcast range up to 300 feet.
SunBriteTV also announced a wireless module that can transmit 1080p video signals (with audio) to any SunBriteTV. The newly announced SunBriteTV Wireless HD Transceiver (SB-HDMIWT) allows you to keep your Blu-ray player, cable box, streaming media box or other source safely protected indoors, while streaming the signal to your TV outside without the need to run (and bury) long HDMI cables outside.
SunBriteTV is currently showing the SB-HDMIWT at the CEDIA Expo in Denver, Colorado. However, the company has yet to announce pricing and availability for the product.
