Soundfreaq Brings Out Three New Products at CES

By Enid Burns

At this week's Consumer Electronics Show, Soundfreaq is showing three new products. The lineup will include the Sound Kick mobile wireless speaker, as well as the Sound Step Love and Step Ghost editions.

The Sound Kick is a wireless speaker that can stream music from any Bluetooth-enabled device, such as the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, as well as Android smartphones, laptops and tablets. The Sound Kick uses an XKICK speaker chamber, which closes to a compact size for travel. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery can power up via USB and holds up to seven hours of playtime. It can also provide playback during charging time.

Soundfreaq's newest offering was developed in response to customer feedback. "We develop all of our products from the ground up to meet user needs we see in the market," said Matthew Paprocki, co-founder and creative director of Soundfreaq. "Bluetooth is a great technology for portable wireless speakers and we're seeing the market flooded with many options, but there is a trade-off between size and sound quality. As an audio company, we were able to develop a unique expandable sound chamber for Sound Kick that closes compact for travel and then expands to produce full, balanced sound. Combined with our proprietary UQ3 spacial enhancement, Sound Kick strikes the right balance between size and sound."

At 1.6-inches thick, Soundfreaq is touting the Sound Kick for its portability and performance. It expands to play with full sound, balanced bass, vocal clarity and UQ3 spatial enhancement. For playback, the Sound Kick can connect to portable devices via the aforementioned Bluetooth as well as USB.

As mentioned, Soundfreaq will also be showing special editions of two additional products at CES 2012. The Sound Step Recharge is a compact speaker for the iPhone and iPad. What makes it so special is that Soundfreaq will have it at the show in both white and red models. These are known as the Love (red) and Ghost (white) editions.
