Although this may end up being another one of those deals that lasts barely longer than it takes me to type about it, but right now both Dell and Sears.com have Sony's BDP-S350 Blu-ray Disc player list for a low $179.99 with free shipping (that's $120 below list). The BDP-S350 is a fully-featured player with support for both Bonus View and BD-Live (BD-ROM spec. 2.0). In addition to BD-Live the player's network port can also be used to download firmware upgrades as they become available, something that is not so simple on a BD-ROM 1.1 spec player with no networking capabilities. Do keep in mind that you will need a USB flash memory card at least 1 GB in size in order to use the BD-Live features.
Our writer Brandon DuHamel did a comprehensive BDP-S350 review and found that the player offered fine video and audio performance at an exceptional value, and that was when its list price was $400 (making today's price a veritable steal). The BDP-S350 also features start up and disc loading times that are much improved over previous players.
The BDP-S350 also plays standard CDs and DVDs, upconverting standard definition content to high definition resolution for display on your flat panel HDTV or projector (it also works with older CRT TVs).
