By Greg Robinson

Here at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Sharp Electronics is showing off its crop of network 3D Blu-ray Disc players for 2011. In addition to support for Blu-ray 3D, the BD-HP25U, BD-HP35U, and BD-HP75U deliver a variety of streaming options, including Netflix, VUDU, Pandora, and YouTube.

All three models in Sharp's 2011 Blu-ray lineup feature integrated Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding, 1080p pixel-by-pixel upscaling, front and rear USB support for AVCHD, DIVX Plus HD, music and images, plus AQUOS Link and AQUOS Pure mode for simplified operation when paired with a Sharp AQUOS display. Each model is also a DLNA-certified client device and Energy Star-compliant.

As for internet connectivity, all three models can be used in a wireless configuration, though the BD-HP25U requires an optional Wi-Fi dongle (VR-WL25). To help with custom installations and offer greater control flexibility, the top-of-the-line BD-HP75U features an RS232 port; the BD-HP35U and BD-HP25U offer IP control.
