Depending on where you are located, it could be kind of chilly for a Presidents' Day BBQ. Instead, consider snuggling up around a brand new 3D TV. Still not equipped with a 3D home theater setup? TigerDirect wants to change all of that with its latest bundle option.
For a limited time, the online retailer is packaging up Sony's 55-inch Bravia KDL55EX720 3D LED HDTV with the Sony BDP-S480 Blu-ray 3D Player, all for the low price of $1299.98. The TV alone has a list price of $1599.99, making this a very nice deal indeed. No coupons are needed, but you will need to add the bundle into your shopping cart to see the final price. Check that out on TigerDirect's product page:
The KDL55EX720 is one of Sony's Bravia HDTVs. It's also an active 3D TV, which means it can deliver a full 1080p HD image in both 2D and 3D. It also has Edge LED Backlight technology, which uses edge-mounted LEDs to light up the screen and deliver an energy-efficient HD picture. Other features include the X-Reality Engine, Motionflow XR 240 technology, and the option to connect this HDTV to your wireless network using the UWA-BR100 Wi-Fi adapter (sold separately).
You're going to want to hook it up to the network in some way (Ethernet is also an option), because the KDL55EX720 has the option to connect to thousands of movies, TV shows, music tracks, games, apps, and other web-based features. A few of the most popular web options on this set include Qriocity, Netflix, Hulu Plus, YouTube, Pandora, and more.
Other features include LightSensor Technology, support for Sony's free Media Remote app, four HDMI inputs and two USB ports.
Don't forget that this bundle also includes Sony's BDP-S480 Blu-ray 3D player. This device can play both 3D and 2D Blu-rays, DVDs and CDs. It also provides access to web-based content, as well as multi-room music using Sony's Party Streaming option (and the optional HomeShare network speakers).
Of course, if you want to do 3D right away, you're going to have to buy compatible 3D glasses to complete the setup. However, this is an excellent starter package at a great price. There's no word on how long TigerDirect will be offering these two components as a discounted package, so think about buying before the retailer runs out of stock.
