Plasma Deals: Panasonic 55-inch TC-P55UT50 1080p 3D Smart HDTV: $867.99 shipped

When high definition first debuted, having that big, beautiful picture was really all that you needed. While that may still be the case for many of you out there, today's HDTVs actually do some phenomenal things. And once you get a little taste, you're going to be hooked.

It's going to be a must to have one of those fancy HDTVs in the living room and maybe even other areas of your home. However, stocking your house with HD goodness can get expensive. Well, not today. Panasonic is selling off some of its 2012 stock, and they are discounting it down to the point where it's going to be hard to resist buying just one!

We found the company selling the Panasonic 55-inch TC-P55UT50 3D Plasma for a mere $867.99. That's $532 off the set's original MSRP and it even includes free shipping right to your front door.

Now, this is a 2012 model, but it has pretty much everything you'd want in a new HDTV -- and more, in some cases. Take a peek at this model on Panasonic's product page:

First and foremost, it has an awesome image. It's a plasma, so that's nice, but it also has a full 1080p image for both 2D and 3D experiences. Yes, it has active 3D technology, as well as a 2D-to-3D conversion feature. If you aren't into 3D, this certainly makes for a wonderful 2D TV too, thanks to fast-switching phosphors and the Neo Plasma Black 2500 FDD (Focused Field Drive) for super-sharp images, whether you're watching sports, movies, sitcoms, or Dancing with the Stars.

The one thing that the set doesn't have is built-in WiFi. Oh sure, it can connect to the web, via Ethernet. However, if that's not an option, you can purchase an extra adapter that can put this 55-incher on your home network. However you network it, you'll want to network it, since the set also includes Panasonic VIERA Connect platform. This puts all sorts of web goodies right at your fingertips, including Netflix, Hulu Plus, Pandora, Facebook, Twitter, and much more.

And finally, if you're looking to make the TC-P55UT50 the centerpiece of a larger system (and you will want to do that), the set does have a pair of HDMI inputs and a pair of USB ports, as well as options for component and composite.

At last peek, Panasonic was offering to ship this set for free. However, since this is part of the company's 2012 stock, this set (and this deal) won't be around for too long. Snag one before the deal is gone!
