Panasonic Unveils High-end Technics DJ Headphones: RP-DH1250, RP-DJ1205

By Rachel Cericola

Happy birthday, Technics! The popular brand is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its popular Technics SL-1200 turntable. Panasonic is getting in on some of those festivities, by reintroducing Technics Pro DJ headphones.

The new headphone models will include the Technics RP-DH1250 and RP-DJ1205. Both promise superior sound quality in a sleek, new package.

As you could probably guess by the name, Technics' RP-DH1250 Pro DJ Headphones are designed with the DJ in mind -- but consumers probably wouldn't mind having a pair of these as well. Besides being cushy, the RP-DH1250 has an integrated swivel mechanism to allow for free-style or single-side monitoring, as well as a foldable design that makes them perfect for taking on the go.

This model also comes packing interchangeable DJ coiled and iPhone microphone cords, so the set will be ready to rock both applications. Other features include a 3500 mW power handling capacity, a 5Hz~30kHz frequency response, a 24k gold-plated stereo plug, and a closed-ear design.

Technics' RP-DJ1205 Pro DJ Headphones have free-style monitoring with a swing arm system, as well as reversible housing for single-side music monitoring. The padded headband also has a water-resistant design for those times when you need to dance and spin simultaneously. Other features include a 1500 mW power handling capacity, a 5Hz~30kHz frequency response, the DJ coiled cord, and a gold-plated L-type stereo plug adapter. The RP-DJ1205 also has a foldable design for easy storage and travel.

Panasonic has started taking pre-orders for both headphone models, with plans to ship in October 2012. The RP-DH1250 is listed with an MSRP of $269.99, with the RP-DJ1205 coming in at $229.99.
