Back in February, Panasonic announced four new Blu-ray players for the year. The company had a few details on the 2013 line; just enough to get consumers excited about the idea of an AV upgrade.
Now, the company is ready to start shipping the new line, announcing pricing and availability for all of its 2013 Blu-ray players.
This year, Panasonic is introducing two new 3D-capable Blu-ray 3D players, the DMP-BDT330 and the DMP-BDT230. There will also be two new 2D models, the DMP-BD89 and the DMP-BD79. The company is also planning to pick up two of its most popular 3D-capable players from 2012, the DMP-BDT500 and the DMP-BBT01.
All six of Panasonic's 2013 Blu-ray players will have built-in WiFi (except the BD79, which needs an adapter), DLNA support, external HDD playback, and a web browser with its own pointy cursor for easy navigation. The 3D models add in a 2D-to-3D conversion feature, as well as Panasonic's web-based VIERA Connect platform. The 2D models, on the other hand, will have IP VOD, a more limited streaming option that just offers access to Netflix, Hulu Plus, VUDU, CinemaNow, and YouTube.
Other standout features include built-in 4K upscaling for the DMP-BDT330, with a 192kHz/32bit Audio DAC for the DMP-BDT500. Both of those models also offer dual HDMI outputs.
All six of Panasonic's 2013 players are shipping now, with the following prices:
