OPPO Digital will be launching its BDP-95 Universal Audiophile 3D Blu-ray Disc Player this February. That Blu-ray 3D player will have a little something for serious audiophiles, including the SABRE32 Reference Audio DAC, a toroidal linear power supply, and balanced XLR. While you wait, however, there is 3D goodness to be had today, via the company's BDP-93 Universal Network 3D Blu-ray Disc Player.
Now available, the BDP-93 plays back Blu-ray 3D discs, as well as Blu-rays and DVDs. However, it also includes support for SACD and DVD-Audio, as well as CD, DivX, HDCD, and much more. The BDP-93 can also play back content that's stored on USB or eSATA drives. Once you tire of what's in your collection, the BDP-93 does provide additional entertainment via Netflix and Blockbuster on Demand. Both services are currently only available to U.S. customers, with Netflix also requiring an unlimited streaming subscription for use of its streaming service (currently starting at $7.99/month).
Aside from what entertainment the BDP-93 supports, the difference here is how the BDP-93 displays it all. According to About.com, this player has a Marvell QDEO Kyoti-G2 88DE2750 upscaling chip, which boasts excellent deinterlacing and 1080p upscaling for DVD playback.
Other features include dual HDMI v1.4a connections, 7.1-channel surround outputs, digital optical and coaxial outputs, and an included wireless-N adapter.
Available now, the BDP-93 Universal Network 3D Blu-ray Disc Player has an MSRP of $499.
