Don't even try to contain your entertainment -- or your excitement, for that matter. Mozaex just announced they are now shipping the Solo 2 3D Blu-ray 3D Entertainment Server, a new box that can pack in 12TB (yes that's twelve terabytes) of Blu-ray movies, DVDs, and Blu-ray 3D discs into a fairly compact media server system.
The Solo 2 3D can do music and photos, too. However, it doesn't just store all of these audio/video goodies; it can distribute everything almost anywhere in the house. To share, you'll need to network the box. However, that web connection also allows the unit to snag some extra web content from Netflix, Pandora, and others.
Despite its hefty capacity, the Solo 2 3D only takes 3.5U of rack space. That slim chassis also packs in NVidia GPUs, 7.1 channel surround HD Audio, Full HD 3D Vision, CUDA and PureVideo HD technology.
Mozaex is compatible with a slew of 3D TVs and glasses, as well as home control systems. Just a few compatible manufacturers include Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Sony, Samsung, NVidia, XPAND, Crestron, AMC, Control4, RTI, Savant, Elan, and NetStreams. The Mozaex Solo 2 3D entertainment server starts at just under $6000 for 12TB of storage. The system can be expanded, using up to four additional players for multiroom playback. Pricing starts at $2495 for added DVD drives, with Blu-ray models starting at $2995 each.
Mozaex also has plans for two additional products next month. The Enterprise Class of Mozaex server will provide 200TB of SAS RAID 6 protected media storage, while the Cache 100 disc changer prevents movie playback without an actual disc present.
