All of our favorite TV shows are starting to wrap up for the year (farewell Smallville!). With summer reruns and reality shows on the horizon, this is a good time to stock up on your favorite flicks and TV shows on Blu-ray Disc.
Amazon is certainly encouraging movie hoarding with their latest massive Blu-ray sale. For a limited time, you can save up to 60 percent (and in some cases, even more) on top titles, which includes blockbusters, Oscar-winners, rom-coms, musicals, and much more. Take a look at the entire selection of Blu-ray Discs on sale in this promotion (currently 248 titles):
A good place to start is with an Oscar winner. Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven is here for just $9.49 - that's 62% off its already low list price. And speaking of the Oscars, David Fincher's acclaimed drama The Social Network is on sale for $18.99, which is 46 percent off the list price. It may not have won the big ones, but it did take home top honors for soundtrack, adapted screenplay and editing. And, perhaps more importantly the Social Network Blu-ray also won a BIGGIE Award!
And there are tons of other past Academy Award winners for sale too, including The Sound of Music ($17.49), Beauty and the Beast ($17.99), and Gladiator ($22.49). Also on sale is Scorsese's Raging Bull for just $12.49. All of these look and sound exceptionally clean on Blu-ray Disc.
Summer is also a good time to catch up on shows before they start up again this fall. If you missed AMC's The Waking Dead, it's a must-see, and a mere $26.99 (46 percent off) for the first season if you order it now. Season one of Showtime's Spartacus: Blood and Sand is available too, for a whopping 57 percent off - just $33.99.
For those just getting into 3D TV at home, there are a few Blu-ray 3D titles on sale. Both Piranha 3D and Resident Evil: Afterlife are 41 percent off, or $23.49 each.
This is also a good opportunity to stock up on some of those demo-worthy discs. The Dark Knight is just $10.99, with 300 going for even less, at $9.99. Also, The Matrix is $13.49.
