With the holiday season coming soon, we can't help but think about gifts -- to ourselves, of course. 'Tis the season for audio and video purchases, and Marantz is kicking things off a little early for the two-channel music fan with its newly announced PM6004 Integrated Amplifier and CD6004 Compact Disc Player.
Both products promise some of the same advanced sonic technologies that Marantz uses in its Reference Series, but at a new, affordable price point.
The PM6004 amplifier boasts detail and harmonic balance in a stylish package with plenty of control options. Just like the company's Reference Series amplifiers, the PM6004 has a Torroidal transformer to anchor a new power supply that feeds a Current Feedback Amplifier. Other features include built-in HDAM-SA2 circuitry, five line inputs and two outputs, as well as moving magnet phono stage for use with a turntable.
Available now with an MSRP of $599.99, the PM6004 also has an intuitive control panel and comes with its own remote control.
The CD6004 is designed to make you appreciate CDs again -- by adding in a digital twist. This new component can combine your entire CD collection with content from iTunes and other digital sources. The front panel has a new USB port, which makes it insanely easy to connect an iPod or other MP3 player. Marantz says that this isl a first for the company, at least at this price point (MSRP: $499.99).
The CD player packs in plenty of other goodies, too, such as proprietary Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Modules (HDAMs), a Flasher Input, premium (wide pitch) L/R output jacks, and both optical and coaxial digital outputs. Other features include a double-layered bottom plate to keep this system vibration free, a precision clock system, and two iPod operation modes.
"With our new accessibly priced PM6004 Amplifier and CD6004 CD Player, we are making it possible for more audio and music enthusiasts than ever to afford the signature Marantz music experience. Everything about these units has been engineered to provide luxurious, breathtakingly realistic music reproduction," said Jim Ludoviconi, Marantz's brand and product manager. "At the same time, our engineers made sure to include all the convenience and flexibility features suited for all today's digital music listening solutions. As a company that was founded with a mission to provide the very best music listening experience possible, these two products make us very proud."
