About a month ago, Panasonic announced all of its HDTV plans for 2013. At that time, the company said we should expect to see 16 new plasmas and 16 new LED TVs at some point this year.

As mentioned, this is part of 2012's E50 Series. It doesn't have 3D effects, but it has plenty of other perks. For instance, it has Panasonic's LED IPS (In Plane Switching) panels, which promise better black black levels, off-axis viewing, and reduced on-mode power consumption by about 25 percent over the 2011 models.
The 55-incher also has a full 1080p HD images, 360 backlight scanning, DLNA support, four HDMI inputs and two USB ports. If you're looking to network this model (and you'll want to do that), you can add WiFi into the setup via an optional adapter. Having the set connected to your home network will allow users to tap into all of the web-based goodies from Panasonic's VIERA Connect platform, which includes Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video, Pandora, YouTube, and much more.
Of course, if you're looking for that 3D fix, Amazon is also discounting Panasonic's 55-inch TC-L55ET5 55-Inch 1080p 3D LED for $1098.
