Surround sound just isn't the same without a nice deep low end. Adding a subwoofer to an existing system isn't all that difficult. And now there are even a few more options to add some high-end low-end to your system. This week Klipsch has announced the launch of a new cross-brand compatible subwoofer line that includes five all-new models. These compact yet aesthetically pleasing subwoofers will match not only Klipsch speakers, but are also compatible with any other brand of speaker or home theater system.
The new line offers the latest in amplifier and driver technology to provide maximum bass performance. The line includes a total of five models, ranging in price from $449 to $1,499 each. These include the SW-311, SW-310, SW-308, SW-112 and SW-110, and each is equipped with highly damped, non-resonant woven fiberglass drivers. These offer BASH Digital Hybrid Amplifiers to deliver efficient and reliable high-powered sound, and to ensure energy efficiently as well, each of these models is equipped with a 1-watt standby mode.
The top-of-the-line SW-311 model offers easy access front controls, along with patented ARC II (Adaptive Room Correction) technology that can automatically customize optimal bass performance for any type of room. The SW-311, SW-310 and SW-308 also feature 4-layer voice coil on an aluminum former for low-frequency output. The entire line promises to look as good as it sounds, with the aforementioned models sporting a black satin finish. The step down SW-112 and SW-110 also look fine with matte black vinyl finish along with front slot ports for easy installation and placement flexibility. These two models include line and high level inputs, ensuring these are compatible with old and new receivers.
"Since 1993, we have been developing high-output, low-distortion subwoofers to match the different Klipsch speaker lines," said Mark Casavant, vice president of product development for Klipsch. "As we launch this new series, we are pleased to offer our most advanced and high performing subwoofers to date. We're looking forward to delivering the room-shaking Klipsch subwoofer sound experience to any loudspeaker owner."
