Emeril has cookware, Tony Hawk has skateboards, and even Tim Allen has tools. So it would make sense that one of the bigwigs in the electronics industry would have a line of A/V equipment. Samsung is one of the first to jump on video guru Joe Kane (figuratively speaking, of course), for a new line of home theater projectors.
The Joe Kane Signature Series will launch with two of Samsung’s Digital DLP projectors: the SP-A800B and SP-A900B. Both units boast Texas Instruments’ formidable Digital Light Processing (DLP) optical engine, as well as a 1920 x 1080 resolution, 1,000 ANSI lumens, and the ability to broadcast HD, SMPTE-C and EBU. Connections include two HDMI inputs.
"Anyone who knows Joe Kane’s work during his 25+ years in the home theater industry knows that his endorsement of a product means he has the utmost confidence in the product and the manufacturer’s production process," says Jeffrey Goodman of DVE Distribution, Inc. "Mr. Kane worked with Samsung engineers to ensure that JKP Signature Series products conform to his exacting standards."
The SP-A800B is available now, with the flagship SP-A900B expected in the second quarter of this year (soon!). Both units are being distributed by DVE. Additional products are expected for the line in the future.
