The JVC design team has certainly been busy. Not wanting the new XS-SR3 to get thrown into the heap of iPod docks out there, the company has added a few tweaks to make this product a standout.
First, there is the wraparound design, which includes enough curves to make it a funky, fun centerpiece for any table or shelf. Next, they have added Dolby Virtual Surround, which creates a wider, deeper soundfield for better listening in almost any room.
However, one of the things we love about this slick tabletop unit is how it nestles the iPod. This device really makes that portable the center of attention, by allowing you to rotate the dock, from horizontal to vertical and back again. This makes for a perfect viewing experience while using the dock.
Power output is five watts. The system features two audio inputs, one analog and one digital optical. The XS-SR3 also comes with a remote and four clips, to accommodate selected iPod models.
Expect the JVC XS-SR3 to launch sometime this month for $149.95.
