For folks in the front projector crowd, JVC's proprietary D-ILA display technology has long held a well-deserved reputation for high quality video performance - and it's about to get a bit more affordable.
Using the CEDIA Expo as their launching pad, JVC has just introduced its newest entry-level D-ILA projector, the DLA-HD250. Priced at an attractive $2,995 this 1080p high definition projector is capable of putting out 1,000 ANSI lumens of brightness while delivering a native contrast ratio of 25,000:1.
In typical JVC style - and as is the case with JVC's new 3D projectors - this new entry level D-ILA projector will be marketed under two model numbers through two different distribution channels. The consumer model, the DLA-HD250, will be available through JVC's Consumer Electronics Group while the DLA-HD250Pro will be available through JVC's Professional Products Group.
Both iterations of the the DLA-HD250 feature three 0.7-inch 1920×1080 D-ILA devices capable of delivering impressive native contrast (25,000:1) without the need for a dynamic iris, a tool used by many front projectors to achieve higher theoretical contrast numbers.
Other features of the DLA-HD250 include the Silicon Optix HQV Reon-VX video processor, a 2X motorized zoom lens, super quiet (19dB) operation and a 2-year warranty. The DLA-HD250 should be available before October with a price tag of $2,995.
