We saw a lot of Ultra High-Definition TVs at last month's International CES. Most manufacturers seem to be initially launching the new TV technology in an 84-incher. However, Hisense is hoping to add a bit of variety into its UHD TV lineup, offering three sizes for its flagship XT900 Ultra-LED Series.
When the XT900 line launches, it will feature 65-, 84- and 110-inch screen sizes. Each one comes packing a 3840-by-2160 resolution. This makes sense, since the hook on UHD technology is that it has four times the image quality of a full 1080p HDTV. Each set will also have active-shutter 3D on 120Hz panels, as well as precise local dimming, and built-in WiFi support for connectivity out of the box.
That WiFi access will come in handy, too, since each TV has smart TV and Google TV features. It will also work with each set's USB-mounted detachable camera. This perk is designed for use with Skype, as well as built-in gesture control and facial recognition features. All of those options will work in conjunction with the TV's included remote, which houses a microphone.
"The XT900 represents the pinnacle of Hisense's R&D and innovative design capabilities, rightfully deserving the crown as our new flagship model," said Peter Erdman, VP of consumer electronics for Hisense USA. "With the XT900, consumers can look forward to the very best in technological advances and freedom of choice at incredibly affordable prices."
While the XT900 Series certainly looks promising, there are a few key details missing. For instance, Hisense has yet to announce pricing or release dates for any of the models in the lineup.
