HDTV Sale: Deals on 2010 Plasma, LCD and LED TVs, Starting at $150

By Rachel Cericola

Despite the snow some of you may still see on the ground, spring is actually on its way. That means flowers, birds, baseball, and yes, spring-cleaning. It can be a chore for some. For others, it can mean a nice, new HDTV.

Amazon doesn't even want to wait until the official change of the seasons; they have already started the spring cleaning process. Making way (and room) for next year's HDTV models means they are willing to sell you a perfectly awesome 2010 model HDTV at quite a hefty discount. Whether you need a little something for the bedroom, a playroom, the garage, the living room, or every room, this is the sale you do not want to miss. We found sizes ranging from 19 to 60 inches, with prices starting at a low $150. Check out all of the models being offered during this sale here:

One plasma worth looking at is Samsung's 58-inch PN58C6500. This 1080p HDTV is usually priced at $2,399.99 but was priced at $1817 delivered last we checked, making this an extremely enticing deal. Aside from that full HD image, other PN58C6500 features include FilterBright AntiGlare technology, the 600Hz Subfield Motion Refresh Rate, four HDMI inputs, and Wi-Fi support (via an add-on LinkStick Adapter). Whether hardwired or wireless, that web access allows viewers to tap into additional content via Samsung Apps. Partners include Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and more. Also, because this set is part of Samsung's Touch of Color line, it has a nice black tint built into the bezel. Find out more here:

For something a little more affordable, it's hard to beat the price on VIZIO's 42-inch SV421XVT 1080p LCD. A part of the company's high-end XVT (eXtreme VIZIO Technology) line, the full HD TV is normally listed at $949.99, but Amazon is cutting a whopping 42 percent off that price so it's now available for just under $550 delivered. That reduced rate still gets you a first-rate HDTV, with a full HD 1080p image, a 240Hz SPS refresh rate, 178-degree rated viewing angle, and four HDMI inputs. Find out more about this set on Amazon's product page:

One last deal that's not on that list (but well worth a look) is Panasonic's 50-inch TC-P50GT25 3D plasma. Amazon is selling this full 1080p 3D HDTV for $999.98, which is almost $1100 less than the list price. This is an unbelievable price on a 50-inch plasma, let alone one that also includes 3D capabilities.  3D glasses are required for 3D viewing and not included in the box, but the set makes a perfectly fine 2D HDTV as well so you'll have plenty of big screen goodness to enjoy while you save your pennies for a Blu-ray 3D player and some glasses.

Other features on this THX-certified HDTV includes the 600Hz Sub-Field Drive for smooth motion reproduction, Infinite Black Panel technology, three HDMI ports, and Wi-Fi support (via the add-on DY-WL10 Wireless LAN Adapter). That web access will allow viewers to tap into Panasonic's own VIERA Cast platform, which features on-screen content from Netflix, Amazon Video on Demand, YouTube, Pandora, and more. Add in the Panasonic TY-CC10 camera, and you can also use the TC-P50GT25 as a giant Skype video phone. Find out more about this set on Amazon's product page:

There are at least 136 HDTVs on sale in this clearance, so you'll want to do a bit of (browser) window shopping. Just make sure that you are buying directly from Amazon, and not one of its third-party vendors. Amazon is the one offering the special prices, as well as free shipping and free 30-day returns. Also, all of these sets seem to fall under Amazon's TV Low Price Guarantee. That means if you find your purchase for less anywhere else within 14 days after the ship date, Amazon will refund you the difference.
