Patience is a virtue. It's also not a bad asset when it comes to shopping for tech bargains. If you've been waiting and watching prices on 3D TVs, today is the day you'll want to break out the credit card.
Amazon is currently listing Panasonic's 42-inch TC-P42GT25 3D 1080p plasma for a mere $729.98. This is a 2010 model, so Amazon needs to clear some room for new stock. However, don't expect to suffer quality for that inexpensive price. This is a full 1080p HDTV with networking features. As a nice bonus, that price also includes free shipping. This THX-certified TV promises killer images, with the 600Hz Sub-Field Drive, an Infinite Black Panel, and a 5,000,000:1 native contrast ratio. It includes three HDMI inputs, which makes it easy to hook up all of your favorite A/V components. Also, because it's part of Panasonic's VIERA line, it comes packing VIERA Tools, VIERA Link support, and the option to add in photos via the VIERA Image Viewer.
Another great VIERA feature is VIERA Cast. Just hook your TV up to your home network, and this on-demand option can add Netflix, Pandora, YouTube, Picasa, and a slew of other services, all through your big screen and remote. You can even use this 42-incher to call friends, family and business associates, via the TV's Skype support and the optional TY-CC10 camera.
Of course, the big hook here is that the TC-P42GT25 can do 3D. However, you won't be able to enjoy those features out of the box. You're going to need 3D glasses. A nice option is xPand's X103 universal 3D glasses, which are compatible with this set, as well as 3D TVs from Samsung, Sony and a variety of other manufacturers.
