Electronic House Announces Home of the Year Winners
By Rachel Cericola
You may not have the cash to drop on a mega-mansion, but that doesn't mean you can't dream (and look), right?
Electronic House is showing off some of the latest, greatest high-tech homes with the magazine's 4th annual
Home of the Year Awards.
Due out next week, the May/June issue of
Electronic House will feature this year's winners, which were selected from more than 310 projects submitted to the magazine. Expect to see drool-worthy dens, bedrooms, kitchens, home theaters, and other areas. A total of 39 installations were awarded. This year's categories included:
- Best Overall Home of the Year
- Home Theater
- Green Home
- Fun Room
- Master Suite
- Kitchen
- Grand Space
- Family Room
- Outdoor Space
- Before and After
- Themed Theater
This year's top prize went to
one flashy pad in the Hollywood hills, which features a laundry list of gear including over 125 Crestron products, 236 Sonance products, and plenty of lighting, racks, and other A/V. The magazine's editors say, "The winning homes were selected based on technological innovation, creative solutions to challenges, and design elements."
For a peek at some of the other winners, pick up the May/June issue of
Electronic House next week. The mag says they also plan to feature a lot of the winners on its website during May and June, with some never-before-seen entries coming to the site later in the year.
