Typically, when you buy a movie, you want access to it everywhere. Disney is one of the companies looking to put your purchases anywhere and everywhere that you want them, with its newly announced Disney Movies Anywhere app.
The Disney Movies Anywhere app is a brand-new, cloud-based digital movie service. Users only need to create a Disney Movies Anywhere account. From there, they can use the one portal to browse, purchase, manage, and watch movies from Disney, Pixar and Marvel, both at home and on the go.
In case you thought it looked very familar, know that this new app does operate in a similar way to UltraViolet. However, the big difference here is that Disney Movies Anywhere will provide anywhere access to the main film, as well as exclusive content and bonus features.
Disney is launching the app as an iTunes exclusive, for use with the iPhone, the iPad, the iPod touch and the Apple TV, as well as through web-enabled computers. Although the debut of Disney Movies Anywhere has been time with the digital release of the hit film Frozen, over 400 digital titles will be available at launch.
To entice new users, Disney will offer a free digital copy of The Incredibles for a limited time. Just connect your iTunes account to your Disney Movies Anywhere account to get started. Any digital copy codes previously redeemed through Disney Movie Rewards or iTunes will be ported over to the Disney Movies Anywhere app. Users will also be able to earn Disney Movie Rewards for digital purchases made through the app.

Disney Movies Anywhere is built upon Disney's proprietary digital rights locker, KeyChest. The app is available for free now through iTunes or the Disney Movies Anywhere website.
