Two great companies are coming together! Denon and Boston Acoustics are teaming up for the new DHT-1312BA Home Theater System.
Featuring Denon's AVR-1312 A/V receiver and the Boston Acoustics MCS 160 5.1-channel surround sound loudspeaker system, this package promises complete home theater sound right out of the box.
It's no surprise that the two companies are working together on this package; they have both been under the D&M Holdings umbrella for a few years now.
Denon's 5.1 AVR-1312 receiver is rated at 110 watts per channel and has four HDMI inputs, as well as 1.4a repeater function with 1080p and 3D pass-through capability. Other receiver features include Dolby TrueHD/ DTS-HD Master audio support, 24-bit/192-kHz DACs and a dedicated Denon dock control port for iPod, iPod Touch or iPhone use (FYI: an optional dock is required).
Denon says that this receiver works perfectly with the Boston Acoustics speaker package, which has four matching satellites, a center channel, and an 8-inch, 100-watt subwoofer. Those satellite have 3-inch mid-bass drivers and 0.5-inch dome tweeters, with the center channel adding in one extra driver. All of the speakers can be placed on a bookshelf or tabletop, as well as mounted via each cabinet's keyhole bracket.
Promising easy-peasy setup and operation, the DHT-1312BA package has an updated graphical user interface (GUI) or On-Screen Display, as well as Source/Quick Select Power On and Quick Select options on the receiver's front panel and included remote.
Expect the DHT-1312BA package to be available starting this May. The system's suggested retail price is $599.99.
