Amazon loves being the king of online shopping - particularly on Cyber Monday, the busiest online shopping day of the year. And today's deal of the day is sure to be a hot seller.  The rarely discounted iPod Touch from Apple is Amazon's deal of the day for Monday, November 30th.  Instead of paying $199, you can snag one for just $158 while supplies last.

NOTE: This offer on the 2nd gen iPod Touch has now sold out as of 3:00 PM ET on 11/30.

If you really want the latest and greatest (3rd generation) version of the iPod Touch, then Amazon also has these on sale today, with the 8 GB version available for $179.99 and the 32GB version available for $269.99, both of which are decent discounts off the regular list prices.  Free shipping is available on either piece.

The iPod Touch is almost as powerful as some Netbook computers, with WiFi web capabilities, support for music, photos and videos on a bright colorful screen, and a huge selection of third party apps that can turn it into anything from a gaming device to an online dating enhancer to a flashlight.

Hopefully, Amazon has adequate stock to last through the day but we'd recommend grabbing one early if you can.  Not convinced you need one?  Check out Chris Chiarella's review of the iPod Touch here:

With a massive library of third party apps, the iPod Touch is so much more than just a movie and music player.
