Conspin Smart Qwerty CRU-200TQ Remote Has Full Keyboard

By Rachel Cericola

A lot of today's HDTVs are offering some type of web-based content. Netflix, Facebook, Twitter, Pandora, and too many others to list here; those enhanced services can occupy you for hours on end. Of course, we'd like to spend the bulk of that time enjoying the content versus trying to navigate around the screen with a regular old remote.

Conspin has come up with a new solution in the Smart Qwerty CRU-200TQ universal remote. The newly announced controller has two sides: one with a traditional IR 47-key controller and another with an RF 66-key QWERTY keyboard.

That means you can surf your way through the web, Twitter updates, apps, and other on-screen services, without having to sacrifice the controls you've come to know and love. It even has a trackball mouse.

A built-in gyroscope can determine which side is up, and immediately disables the other side. In other words, you won't have to worry about randomly flipping channels while trying to comment on someone's Facebook photo.

The Smart Qwerty CRU-200TQ can control up to six different devices, and comes packing a USB dongle to receive RF signals from the keyboard when plugged into a Smart TV, gaming system or media PC. It's also compatible with Google TV.

Conspin's Smart Qwerty CRU-200TQ is available now, with an MSRP of $129.99.
