Ask anyone for their experience with earbuds and chances are you'll get what I call the Goldilocks response: they're either too big (ouch!) or too small (oops!). Yurtopia hopes to make your portable music experience just right with yurbuds, add-on custom-fit earpads that not only improve the fit, but also the performance, of your standard earbud headphones.
Simply send in a photo of your ear wearing a standard iPod earbud (or with a US twenty-five cent coin in the photo, if you don't have iPod earbuds), and yurtopia will custom make a set of earpads for your ears and your ears alone.
At this year's CES, the company debuted their new iPhone App, which makes submitting a photo and ordering a set of yurbuds that much easier.
In addition to providing a more comfortable fit, yurbuds promise to enhance bass frequencies, as well as allow users to turn the volume down by up to 60%, which increases battery life and should reduce ear strain.
Yurbuds are available now from the company's website for $20.
