CES: Sherwood's iNet-2.0 Digital Media Player Does It All

By Dennis Burger

In addition to a number of new receivers covering pretty much all ends of the price/features spectrum, Sherwood showed an interesting new digital media player for the desktop or nightstand at this year's International Consumer Electronics Show. Part photo frame, part iPod dock, part alarm clock, part internet portal, the Sherwood iNet-2.0 features built in stereo speakers with twenty watts of amplification, a sharp 8-inch screen, wired and wireless internet connectivity, giving it access to any number of internet radio stations from around the world, as well as on-demand streaming audio services like Rhapsody and Napster.

In addition to being "Made for iPod" and "Made for iPhone" certified the iNet-2.0 supports playback of MP3, Windows Media, AAC+, and RealAUDIO files. It also sports a gigabyte of internal storage, a USB port, an SD/SDHC/MC card slot, and a handy little remote control.
