If it's too loud, you're either too old or you need to keep it down because of angry spouses, sleeping children or just have neighbors that just don't appreciate you trying to immerse yourself in surround sound when you're watching movies at home. If these situations plague you, you could actually turn it down or you could put on a pair of headphones. But of course not just any pair of headphones will do. There are issues of sound quality and there are issues of being tethered to the receiver.
At this year's Consumer Electronics Show some solutions have arrived that manage to address both of these issues. Sennheiser has introduced a line of wireless headphones that promise to offer the same level of audio fidelity as its wired headphones whilst cutting the cord. These include the RS 160, RS 170 and RS 180 wireless headphones - the latter two models were also picked for the CES 2010 Innovations Design and Engineering Award.
The RS160 transmitter features a powered wall adapter or batteries, and the RS 170 and RS 180 transmitters further offer a versatile design that can serve as a charging cradle for the headsets. All three models will be out this winter.
