A year after giving Full HD 3D-capable VIERA plasma TVs--and Avatar director James Cameron--center stage, Panasonic has upped the ante in two ways. First with their announcement of a line of Full HD 3Ds, specific models being noted, and also with an in-person visit from Avatar producer Jon Landau. Landau explained how his and Cameron's technology partnership with Panasonic was born, initially from a shared appreciation of the quality of the manufacturer's plasmas -- apparently used on location and in the editing rooms as studio monitors -- and that admiration grew into a mutually beneficial relationship.
Flash forward to CES 2010, where Panasonic offered details on the launch of their complete line of Full HD 3D VIERA Plasma HDTVs, set for spring 2010. Suggested retail prices are to-be-announced, but the models themselves range in screen sizes from 50 to 65 inches. These include the TC-P50VT20 and TC-P50VT25 in the 50-inch class screen size (49.9 inches, measured diagonally), the TC-P54VT25 54-incher, the TC-P58VT25 58-inch, and the flagship TC-P65VT25 65-inch model. One pair of stylish, lightweight Panasonic 3D active-shutter glasses is included with each of the above models.
Panasonic's Full HD 3D technology delivers a full 1080p image to each eye, offering consumers the highest possible visual experience. The Consumer Electronics Association named the Full HD 3D plasma TV a winner of a 2010 Innovations Award.
