Get ready to gather around the tree and strap on the 3D glasses, because it's looking like a very 3D Christmas. Deals on 3D TV setups are starting to pop up, and we've got a doozy for Sony fans out there.
SonyStyle, Abt Electronics and Amazon are offering deals on select BRAVIA 3D TV bundles. Buy one of the select Sony 3D TVs, and you'll receive a free 160GB PlayStation 3 (which now has Blu-ray 3D playback support, of course), as well as a 3D Deluxe Starter Kit.
The starter kit includes two pairs of active 3D glasses, a 3D Sync transmitter, and one HDMI cable. It also has a Blu-ray 3D copy of Alice in Wonderland, which is currently a Sony exclusive. With a recent firmware update, the PS3 is a perfectly capable Blu-ray 3D player, but of course, we all know what it does best -- gaming. If you want to bring 3D home entertainment to a more interactive level, then these bundles are for you.
To get the freebies, you will need to buy a 3D TV. The two models included in this deal are both from Sony's NX810 series. These LED HDTVs do 3D, as well as 2D in full 1080p HD. Other features include Dynamic Edge LED backlight with local dimming, Motionflow PRO 240Hz technology, BRAVIA Engine 3, and four HDMI ports. Both of the models have built-in Wi-Fi support, which comes in handy when accessing BRAVIA Internet Video and Widgets. This on-screen perk allows you to call up Netflix, YouTube, Pandora, blip.tv, MyPlay, Epicurious.com and more, all right on your TV screen. (Subscription fees may apply for some of these content providers.)
Choose between the 46-inch KDL-46NX810 and the 55-inch KDL-55NX810. Amazon, Abt and SonyStyle are offering the same deal. Amazon's offer is good on purchases through 11:59 p.m. (PST) on November 6, 2010. However, they will pull the deal once they run out of stock, so act quickly. Just make sure you are buying from Amazon and not its third-party merchants, to get the good pricing. Check out more on the deal here:
SonyStyle.com has the same exact deal, for just about the same price. If Amazon runs out of stock, head over to Sony's site. Just know that their offer also ends on November 6, 2010 or while supplies last.
Abt Electronics has the same deal and guess what? It also ends November 6th or while supplies last. Depending on where you're ordering from (and your local sales tax situation), the Abt deal may be the best option:
