Sony Pictures is really pushing the new movie, Battle: Los Angeles. Aside from those extremely creepy commercials, they are running a promotion with Amazon that will allow you to see the movie for FREE.
For a limited time, when you buy a select Sony Blu-ray Disc, Amazon will send you a promotional code that can be redeemed for one ticket or your favorite movie munchie. A total of 24 Blu-ray titles are eligible for this promotion. Take a peek at those titles on Amazon's main Battle: LA promotion page:
Even better, you can save anywhere 40 and 56 percent on each title. We found blockbusters such as Spider-Man, 2012 and Black Hawk Down for $14.99 each. Casino Royale, Ghostbusters and Snatch are all only $11.99 each.
You can also stock up on sci-fi titles, such as The Fifth Element, Starship Troopers, District 9, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Men in Black, all at discounted prices, and plan for your own alien film festival before you head out to see Battle: Los Angeles.
Battle: Los Angeles stars Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Ramon Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan, Ne-Yo, and Michael Peña. Here is Sony's official movie synopsis: "For years, there have been documented cases of UFO sightings around the world - Buenos Aires, Seoul, France, Germany, China. But in 2011, what were once just sightings will become a terrifying reality when Earth is attacked by unknown forces. As people everywhere watch the world's great cities fall, Los Angeles becomes the last stand for mankind in a battle no one expected. It's up to a Marine staff sergeant (Eckhart) and his new platoon to draw a line in the sand as they take on an enemy unlike any they've ever encountered before."
It sounds fun, and you certainly can't beat FREE when it comes to the ticket price. Just make sure to buy those Blu-rays directly from Amazon (not a third-party merchant) between now and March 18, 2011. Once you receive your code, it can be used on the movie Battle: Los Angeles between March 11, 2011 and June 1, 2011 at participating theaters.
Battle: Los Angles opens in theaters nationwide on March 11, 2011.
