Big Picture Big Sound

May is Blu-ray month here at Big Picture Big Sound. We've teamed up with top Hollywood studios, Panasonic and Dolby Laboratories to give away over $4,000 worth of Blu-ray Discs and a WiFi Blu-ray 3D Player in our Blu-ray a Day in May Giveaway. We're featuring different titles in daily drawings with a grand prize drawing on May 31.  Today's prize (Sunday, May 15) is Disney/Pixar's The Incredibles.  Two lucky winners will take home this feast of high definition picture and sound.

"In this world, superheroes are a part of everyday life, sanctioned and even aided by the federal government. The 4-Disc Blu-ray/DVD combo set features an outstanding high definition widescreen 1080p 2.39:1 video transfer, with the audio captured via lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 ES Surround Sound.  The other three discs include one entire Blu-ray Disc full of extras, a standard definiton DVD of the film and a digital copy for your choice of iTunes or Windows Media.

In addition to The Incredibles, we're giving away a copy of "Goldberg Variations Acoustica" from AIX Records.  This title features a live recording of a jazz ensemble performing interpretations of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach.  This Blu-ray 3D Disc (also playable on standard Blu-ray players) features independent stage and audience mixes in fully lossless Dolby TrueHD 5.1 channel surround sound.  When our own Ian White recently reviewed this title, he said, "it's one of those rare discs that will genuinely drop your jaw," and "this lossless recording is amazingly clear and spacious sounding; one of the best you'll ever hear."  You can read more in his Goldberg Variations Acoustica review.
